When it comes to alleviating depression, anxiety and other forms of mental ill-health, language is massively important. “Words” are not just words and sounds, they are symbols that allow us to give (positive and negative) MEANING to events, people and situations in our lives. Our brain interprets words in light of their meaning to us.
Certain words have a “negative” connotation, or at least not a very helpful one. Other words have a more “positive” and helpful meaning.
