Empowering Your Organisation and Staff to Thrive
For corporate employers, community service organisations and other organisations employing staff, improved and consistently good levels of mental health among your workers will lead to improved outcomes. For the individual staff member, having good mental health means the ability to enjoy a fulfilling personal and professional life, and to find a proper balance between the two. For your staff, it also means living life “on my terms”, rather than on someone else’s.
Based on nearly 10 years as a lawyer in private practice and over 20 years as a counsellor, coach and supervisor in the mental health industry, I can, together with my Team, offer your organisation the following workplace-related services:
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Provision
Embedded Workplace Support Program (EWS)
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Provision
Your people are the heart of your organisation. Their emotional and mental wellbeing doesn’t just affect their personal lives—it impacts the way they show up at work each day. That’s where a well-structured Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can make a real difference.
I can offer your company/business EAP services under the Simplifying Life banner. This type of counselling can be conducted either by myself, or by my national network of quality counsellors and psychotherapists. Within the EAP parameters, we offer confidential, short-term counselling and support for staff who may deal with a wide range of personal or work-related challenges. Whether it’s stress, grief, depression, anxiety, family concerns, burnout, or navigating change, having access to professional, early intervention support can help your team stay well—and stay engaged.
I have already partnered with a number of small to medium-sized organisations across the Sunshine Coast to deliver practical, tailored EAP options that fit their workplace needs and values. Will yours be next?
Why offer an EAP to your staff?
There are clear and measurable benefits to supporting your team in this way:
Better mental health support
Staff can access professional counselling in a confidential space, helping them manage life’s challenges before and after they impact work performance or personal wellbeing. Prevention is ideal.
Improved focus and productivity
When employees feel supported, they’re better able to stay engaged in their roles, even when life outside work gets complicated.
Reduced absenteeism, presenteeism and turnover of valuable staff
Early support reduces the risk of burnout, disengagement, and extended time off work—keeping your team more stable and resilient.
A stronger workplace culture
An EAP sends a clear message: “We care about you.” That kind of culture fosters trust, loyalty, and morale.
Cost savings in the long run
When wellbeing is supported, productivity goes up and disruptions go down—helping your business stay efficient and sustainable.
What’s included?
Our EAP packages can include:
Counselling and mental health support (in-person, online via Teams or Zoom, or phone), using evidence-based modalities within a short-term, solution-focused framework.
Educational lunch-workshops and other meet-ups with staff on any mental health related topic
Provision of mental health education and resources
Manager support and referrals to assist your leaders managing their teams
Rapid on-site critical incident support or staff debriefing after incidents, as well as on-site support when tough decisions need to be made that can affect staff members
Optional add-ons like financial or legal referrals to our local network

Embedded Workplace Support Program (EWS)
The Embedded Workplace Support (EWS) Program is a proactive mental health initiative designed to support employee wellbeing directly within the workplace. Rather than waiting for staff to seek help externally, EWS places a dedicated mental health professional within your organisation to offer accessible, confidential, and consistent support to your team.
This program goes beyond traditional Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) by integrating mental health expertise into the culture and daily rhythms of your workplace. Employees can access on-site or virtual counselling, wellbeing check-ins, and mental health resources in a timely and stigma-free manner.
Key Features
Regular on-site or virtual presence of a qualified mental health practitioner
Early intervention and short-term counselling support
Mental health education and capacity-building for staff and leadership
Support with managing workplace stress, burnout, interpersonal issues, and critical incidents
Tailored advice for leaders on supporting team mental health

The Workplace Peer Support Program is a 3-hour on-site or virtual workshop that trains interested employees to offer support to their colleagues who may be experiencing personal or work-related challenges. These trained staff members, known as Peer Supporters, are available to listen, offer guidance, and refer their colleagues to appropriate services such as the Employee Assistance Program or other professional support options.
While many employee support programs focus on managing psychological risk, our Workplace Peer Support Program goes further by breaking down key barriers to seeking help—such as stigma, cultural norms, accessibility, and a lack of social connection.
This program can be delivered to up to 15 staff members in one training session, lasting up to 3 hours. Workbooks and Certificates of Completion/Attendance will be issued. Pricing depends on your requirements, so please contact me for more information if you are interested in learning more.

General Comments
The tools and techniques used in the Programs and Training Sessions above have a strong foundation in both Western neuro-science and Eastern philosophies. Modern research has found that “Mindfulness”, a state of awareness often promoted by Eastern philosophies, has measurable benefits on the size and structure of the executive functioning parts of our brain. Combined with powerful perception-change and cognitive restructuring strategies from more western, evidence-based modalities, a powerful mix for lasting change in a person’s life is available. The Programs use techniques from, and are heavily influenced by:
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Mindfulness integrated CBT (MiCBT)
- Positive Psychology Principles
- Neuro Linguistic Programming and other (verbal and non-verbal) language tools
- Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)
- Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Keirsey Temperament Sorter
